Slaughtering Buffalo in One Strike!

I am thinking of being a Vegan after seing the photograph. But gosh I still looovee Shrimp and other yummy seafood!

I didnt mean to frightening anyone by posting the picture. Indeed, I suddenly thinking of a video posted widely in Australia about 'Stop-the-Inhumane-Slaughter-of-Australian-Beef-In-Indonesia'. Well I wasnt brave enough to see the video, which I think its too 'In-Animal'. I am about to say 'In-Human' but instead replacing with 'In-Animal' since we are talking about Australian Cows that being harshly treated. A national television recall that the cows were insanely murdered. I dont know how the method but apparently made a negative reaction and made the Australian Government stop the export.
According to my religion, it was not the proper way to kill an animal for human consumption. My religion taught us to properly use a right manner to killed them.

Well, what I'd like to share is about a traditional funeral in Toraja, South Sulawesi. An 8 hours-drive from Makassar. Perhaps it's one of the coolest place among another indigenous place in the country with it's funeral celebrations. The funeral also being a so-called 'pride' for them who successfully held it.  It cost a lot. Those families who held the celebration need to have certain numbers of Buffalos, another animals, numerous foods, parties, etc.

It's not just a 'Buffalo'. they use two kinds of buffalos, the black one, and the white-black-color one. They are special. They cost a lot. lets say a white-black-color buffalo cost hundreds million rupiah or equal to 10,000 dollars and above. imagine if a family sacrificed hundreds of Buffalo!  well, later by then the horns will be exhibited in front of the family's house. the more, the merrier. Its a PRIDE!

Well, slaughtering the buffalo made ma felt like dropping a tear.  I  felt sorry for them.
even if they are treated gently and docile when the people smacked them down. Imagine, One strike right on their necks. Blood streaming down the neck to the ground. Confusion and hint of hysteria of another buffalo which were dying. Within seconds they buckle of their knees under their giant bodies.

Some fall instantly. Some take more time after being chop-chopped. it left a misery above all the funeral celebration.

it's touchy. it's sad but wonderful at the same time.
bring the indigenous images of Toraja.
